Rodrigo Peñalver, number 2 of the PP in the town of Los Santos de la Humosa (Madrid), dragged an anti-bullfighting activist who jumped into the ring to protest against animal suffering.

The events occurred on May 2 when two activists, a Belgian woman and a Dutchman named Peter Janssen -founder of the International Vegan Strike Group organization- jumped into the arena with texts against the suffering suffered by bulls written on top of their bodies.

The candidate for mayor of the PP was one of the protagonists of the day after he abruptly stopped the activist, whom he dragged along the ground for a few meters until he took her to the barrier to stop her protest. At the same time, his partner receives several blows and kicks to be removed from the premises, as can be seen in the images that the organization has shared on social networks.

PP sources in Madrid have informed EFE that “they will not take action” against the candidate.

The founder of the organization for animal welfare, Peter Janssen has also shared the video in which he and his partner are arrested, and has condemned the facts.

According to Janssen, the two activists jumped into the ring with texts against animal suffering written on the upper part of their bodies, just after the bull was stabbed to death, to loud applause from the public, with the aim of diverting attention from the triumph of the bullfighter towards the suffering of the bull.
