Paqui has been reborn, a lightning bolt went through her entire body on Sunday while she was tending at her house in the Cártama Station (Málaga) and miraculously she has escaped almost unharmed.
“It went through my entire body, it entered my shoulder and came out my foot. It was a miracle that no organ was affected,” this woman explained to El Español. Although it all happened in an instant, “it was very painful, I thought something inside had burst, I was burning,” she recalls.
Paqui recounts that she dragged herself into her home where her husband attended her in the first instance and took her to the Hospital del Valle del Guadalhorce. According to the account of the events published in the aforementioned newspaper, the woman’s arms were completely numb, her abdomen was almost dyed black, and she could hardly move when she arrived at the hospital.
There they stabilized him and confirmed that no electricity had passed through his heart. “The doctors told me that I was lucky, that I only weigh 55 kilos and that just like lightning splits a tree, I could have ended up,” says the protagonist of this unusual event, which only caused her a few first-degree burns.
Paqui was subsequently transferred to the Virgen de la Victoria University Hospital in Malaga, where she was monitored for 24 hours due to the risk of tachycardia or even a heart attack. “Fortunately, everything was fine, they discharged me a day later, but I’m still dazed, between the impact and the fact that I fell backwards, I’m still recovering.”
