In the Photos of the Readers of La Vanguardia we can see the Riera de la Gorga, in L’Esquirol, the color of chocolate after the last rains. This brownish water flows into the River Ter, which feeds the Sau reservoir.
With the strength of the last rains recorded this May in the Osona region, the waters of the Riera de la Gorga come down, stirred up with earth sediments.
Sediment is a solid material accumulated on the earth’s surface derived from the actions of phenomena and processes that act in the atmosphere, in this case, rain.
The Riera de la Gorga rises under the Pla d’Aiats and ends up in the Sau swamp. It forms a series of gorges with waterfalls and remains of flour mills.
Whatever the color, all the water that reaches the reservoir will be welcome since it is one of the swamps that has suffered the most from the effects of drought in Catalonia.
