Less than a month before the definitive end of Sálvame, dated June 23, the news about the future of his team and most regular collaborators have spread like wildfire. Although the program has taken its own cancellation with humor, trying to find work for its commentators in an ironic key, the truth is that the future of the squad is still completely up in the air.
The television factory, the producer responsible for the format since its inception in 2009, has tried to avoid the worst scenario for its workers: an employment regulation file (ERE) due to the impossibility of relocating the team behind Sálvame It is broadcast every afternoon on Telecinco. However, as the newspaper 20 Minutos has been able to learn, this collective dismissal will finally be carried out and this has already been communicated to the members of its Works Council.
The difficult decision will affect the workers of Sálvame and Viernes Deluxe, but also those of another of the programs that La fabrica de tele produces for Mediaset. Focus, a research space broadcast on Cuatro, will also end its broadcasts shortly. Initially, it was scheduled to close its tour this week, although, according to what La Vanguardia has been able to learn exclusively, it has been extended by four more installments to complete the entire month of June.
In its statement, the production company thanked “all its workers for the high degree of commitment to their work”, regretting “having to make the decision to initiate a collective dismissal procedure”. The objective of La fábrica de la tele with the execution of the ERE is “the viability of the company itself and to avoid further bleeding in the jobs”, they have assured.
The company has been forceful with its workers, among whom there is complete discouragement. “There is no turning back,” they have been assured. From his direction they try to downplay the matter, insisting that “The television factory is working on future projects”, as they have declared in words to El Televisero. For now, his other two spaces in Mediaset chains, Socialité and Todo es lie, will resist on the grid.
The news of the end of Sálvame arrived on Friday, May 5, and his entire team found out about it live and through the media. At the end of June, Sandra Barneda will take over Telecinco’s afternoons with the summer program Asà es la vida, while Ana Rosa Quintana will take over the same slot from September.
