A man has accepted a sentence of eleven years in prison and ten years of probation for sexually abusing his daughter since 2012, when the minor was three years old, until the beginning of 2022 in Badalona (Barcelona).
This Wednesday, the trial for the abuses that the defendant subjected to the minor since she was three years old, to whom he threatened not to return her toys if she did not do what he told her, has been seen for sentencing at the Barcelona Court.
The father, who was in pretrial detention, has reached an agreement with the Prosecutor’s Office and his request for an initial sentence of twelve years in prison has been reduced for a continued crime of sexual abuse with penetration and abuse of superiority.
As the Public Ministry detailed in its provisional brief, the man groped his own daughter and forced her to masturbate him and give him fellatio, telling the girl that what they did was “normal” and that “many families did it.”
These abuses happened on “a multitude of occasions”, according to the Prosecutor’s Office, even reaching a frequency of several times a week for a period of ten years. The last occasion was at the beginning of 2022 and a short time later, her mother, who was unaware of the facts since the author took advantage of her absence at her home, denounced the sexual abuse.
Given the recognition of the facts and the father’s request for forgiveness, the Prosecutor’s Office has reduced his sentence by one year, but has increased to ten years the time of probation that he must serve after leaving prison, as well as distance, while the compensation to be paid for the damage has risen from 40,000 to 50,000 euros.
Likewise, during the turn of the last word, man has recognized his willingness to repair the damage and correct the mistakes he has made.
