The UEFA inspectors Samuel Leuba and Mirjan Koller, in charge of preparing a report on the investigation of the Negreira case that must conclude with the authorization or not of the registration of Barcelona for the next edition of the Champions League, have requested more information from the Barcelona entity before making a decision.

As reported to this newspaper by a source from the Blaugrana club, the UEFA inspectors have sent a questionnaire with 71 questions to Barcelona, which has time to respond until next week, before making a decision. Three scenarios are proposed: that there are no consequences and Barça can participate in the next edition of the Champions League, that there is a temporary suspension or that a decision is not made until the open criminal procedure is resolved.

When the Negreira case broke out, UEFA requested information from the Barça club to investigate the payments to José Maria Enríquez Negreira (7.3 million euros), who was vice president of the Technical Committee of Referees between 2001 and 2018.

Even the president of Barcelona, Joan Laporta, met with the president of UEFA, Aleksander Ceferin, at the end of April in Slovenia to give him explanations in person about the case. Previously, the Barcelona club had sent a written report to UEFA in this regard.
