Geraldine Larrose, renowned artist under the name Innocence, still mourns the death of baritone Carlos Marín, belonging to the group Il Divo, who died in December 2021 in Manchester after spending a few hard days in an induced coma until it could no longer be done nothing more with his life.

An unexpected death, since the singer was 53 years old, which left his family completely devastated. At first, sources close to the baritone assured that the singer’s death was due to COVID-19, but shortly after his sister confirmed that it was due to reinfection with the Delta variant that was lethal.

Since his death, both the baritone’s family and Geraldine Larrose went hand in hand in issuing statements and thanking the shows of support. However, the distancing soon came. The reason, the distribution of the inheritance of the artist, who bequeathed most of his assets to his mother, with the exception of the apartment he owned in Madrid, where he lived with Larrose, valued at 700,000 euros and on which a mortgage of 300,000 still weighs. euros that Geraldine Larrose asks Marín’s mother to take over, something she refuses.

Magdalena Menchero, mother of the baritone, does not believe that it is her responsibility, since her son was only married to the artist for three years. Something that Geraldine Larrose regrets, since she shared almost 30 years of her life with Marín, even if there were no roles involved, which seems to be what the singer’s mother is interested in.

“They have not even understood my private life with Carlos Marín, which has been 30 years,” she lamented when asked about it by reporters from Europa Press, “What interests her are the papers and not what her son has experienced with me that we have been very happy, being very happy and having a beautiful life that we have had, that hurts people who do not understand it. That’s it”.

However, he trusts in justice, since they are still involved in their dispute over the apartment, which is currently still being resolved through their lawyers. “Whatever has to come out will come out,” says the artist.

Carlos Marín was always one of the great loves of Geraldine Larrose, with whom he had a relationship for 17 years and was married from July 2006 until their divorce in 2009. However, they always remained very close, despite rebuilding their lives with other couples -Larrose became a mother with her new partner, actor Sergio Arce, shortly after.

What few knew was that the couple planned to marry again, but the death of the baritone disrupted those plans. A wish that Larrose herself revealed during Marín’s public wake in Madrid, confessing that they had reconciled two years ago.

“We had survived the pandemic and in the end the pandemic has taken it away from me,” lamented the artist as she left the funeral home. “We were going to repeat that moment, but it doesn’t matter because I know that the universe is going to unite us millions of times,” she reiterated on her Instagram account, recalling her wedding shortly after her.
