The Molà Fondo is an old paper factory, whose history is linked to the life of the village of Sant Joan les Fonts, in the region of Garrotxa.
The origin of the factory dates back to 1723, although it underwent an important transformation in 1841, when Pere Capdevila bought the mill.
The new owner carried out a major reform of the mill and introduced the continuous paper machine for industrial production.
The Molà Fondo is an important example of the industrial heritage of La Garrotxa and, from the outside, we can see a beautiful waterfall, especially after the rain, as can be seen in the Photos of the Readers of La Vanguardia.
The Molà Fondo is an area of interest for its industrial archeology and for the lava flow that was part of the old Reformada lock.
