The inaugural presentation of the Summer Game Fest, one of the most anticipated events in the video game sector, will take place this Thursday starting at 9:00 p.m. (peninsular time).

The YouTube Theater in Los Angeles will be the scene of this exhibition of novelties, which will last 2 hours and will serve to discover the latest games from more than 40 companies.

The Summer Game Fest can be followed live from the video that heads this news, but also through the corresponding YouTube, Twitch, Steam, TikTok and Twitter channels.

The Summer Game Fest is an event organized by the Canadian journalist and producer Geoff Keighley, also responsible for The Game Awards gala, considered “the Oscars of the video game”.

The event began its journey in 2020, after the most important fair in the sector, E3 in Los Angeles, canceled its edition for that year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In the last four years, the veteran fair organized by the American video game association has only been held once (and digitally). In fact, the 2023 edition was canceled at the end of last March due to the rejection of several large companies to participate in it.

The gap left by E3 since 2020 has been taken advantage of by Summer Game Fest to position itself as the great summer video game event –with the permission of Gamescom in Cologne, which is held in August and also has an inauguration by Geoff Keighley–.

In addition to the presentation that will be held tonight, other more specific digital events are also grouped under the Summer Game Festa, such as the indie Day of the Devs event, the presentation of the publisher Devolver Digital or the long-awaited Xbox event. They can all be consulted on the festival’s official website.

Throughout the last few weeks, there have been several companies that have announced their presence at the event. Among them are big names such as Activision Blizzard, Bandai Namco, Capcom, Electronic Arts, Netflix, PlayStation, SEGA or Xbox, among many others.

From the event itself, some of the games that can be seen have already been confirmed, such as Cyberpunk 2077: Phatom Liberty, the expansion of the ambitious (and controversial) science-fiction game developed by the Polish company CD Projekt Red.

Other titles whose presence has already been confirmed are Alan Wake 2, for which a spectacular trailer could already be seen at the PlayStation Showcase held two weeks ago; or Mortal Kombat 1, the new installment in this legendary fighting game saga.
