The pieces of Humanes’ crime begin to fit together like a puzzle. The DNA comparison test has confirmed that the charred body found last May inside a truck on fire in the Madrid town is that of Rafael Muñoz, a 31-year-old man who disappeared under strange circumstances in the same dates and area.

Although the investigators had verified that the body belonged to this man, they have waited for the final result of the DNA test to communicate the news to his relatives.

Now the motive for the crime remains to be determined and the Civil Guard does not rule out any hypothesis. From an accidental death to a possible crime related to drug trafficking.

Rafael Muñoz disappeared on the night of April 30 when he told his wife that he was going to pick up his car at a deposit located next to the M-30, where he went accompanied by two other people.

Rafael’s relatives lost track of him at that moment, until they learned that his car appeared in the Humanes municipal area with the doors open, the lights on and some of his belongings inside.

After his mother filed a complaint on May 2, the family learned that a little more than 24 hours earlier, during the early morning after the disappearance, a truck had been burned at another point in Humanes and a charred corpse was found inside.

Just over a month later, the comparison of the DNA samples extracted from the body with those of Rafael’s relatives have confirmed the suspicions of the agents.
