The Sumar coalition wants to shield itself from possible internal tensions. The coalition agreement between the path led by Yolanda Díaz and the rest of the leftist forces includes a clause with the commitment that all elected deputies form part of a single parliamentary group, which prevents them from going to the mixed group or trying to form other groups parliamentarians

Sources from the group led by the second vice president, Yolanda Díaz, indicate that this condition has been exhaustively contemplated in the document signed by all the political forces, since it was logical that the electoral confluence unit would have its translation in the future parliamentary group.

It also includes some guidelines for the group’s operation in Congress, in matters such as spokespersons and vote deliberation, which are also governed by the basic guidelines of the coalition agreement.

The aforementioned sources insist that the commitment clause that all parties form part of the same group is common sense and concerns all formations equally, since a unity candidacy cannot be articulated without that requirement.

Therefore, with this requirement there is no option for, for example, regionalist forces to constitute a separate group, as Compromís came to slip at some point, or leave Sumar’s parliamentary discipline for any internal difference.
