Summer is just around the corner and, with it, the desire to enjoy all kinds of water activities returns, also taking into account the rise in temperatures and the search for places to cool off. Nowadays, there are plenty of vehicles for having fun on the water, but some attract more attention than others for different reasons.
One of those cases is carried out by the GoBoat, a peculiar inflatable boat that aims to be one of the most compact and lightest ways to navigate. Designed for moments of free time, whether they are family vacations or fishing trips, among other uses, one of its great advantages lies in its ease of storage, since once deflated it takes up very little space and, of course, does not require mooring. .
This proposal started in 2016 by the company that bears the same name as the product but now, with its version 2.0, the GoBoat has taken a step forward and has improved both in resistance and attractiveness. In addition, this renewal of the vehicle allows compatibility with a wider variety of accessories.
Defined by its manufacturer as a hybrid between a motor boat, a paddle surf board and a kayak, the GoBoat brings together the most relevant characteristics of these boats in a single product. It is a round inflatable alternative with a seat (also inflatable) and several levels of protection through the inclusion of safety devices.
Likewise, the particular boat offers space to transport any necessary material and has an engine with which to move easily and effortlessly. There are two versions, one for children and one for adults, with a weight of 17 and 26 kg, respectively. In both cases, once deflated, it remains folded in a backpack.
So, unlike conventional kayaks and boats, there is no transportation or storage to worry about. It should be noted that the adult version can support a maximum payload of 136 kg. It can be customized with additional items such as cup holders, fishing rods, storage nets and even a dedicated space to house a cooler.
It must be taken into account, in terms of safety, that the inflatable seat becomes a flotation device in case the boat begins to lose air. Not to be overlooked, there is an engine kill switch attached to an ankle lanyard. In the event the driver falls into the water, the engine will shut down to prevent possible injury to the driver or anyone else.
GoBoat prices range from 579 euros for the children’s version to 995 euros for the more equipped adult variant. If you want to see this curious ally for this summer, you just have to take a look at the video that accompanies this article.
