The delivery of “aid” to Ukraine to “defend itself from Russia” announced by Pedro Sánchez this weekend has unnerved Podemos. The former coalition partner of the PSOE has warned of the “worrying” escalation of war against “a nuclear power” in which the President of the Government has put Spain. And he has criticized that, with Pedro Sánchez at the helm, the PSOE has stopped being the party of No to war.

This was stated this Monday by the deputy spokesperson for Podemos, María Teresa Pérez, understanding that this decision leads to “Spain going to continue fueling the war and the murder of civilians while the lords of the industrial sector benefit.”

“I don’t know if Pedro Sánchez is making the merits to be the next secretary general of NATO, but he is certainly the secretary general of the PSOE who has abandoned the policy of no to war,” he stated.

After insisting that Podemos has been demanding for some time “that this spiral of war not continue to be fueled” that does not lead “to any good place”, he has indicated that the strategy of “adding more fuel to the fire” and “sending more weapons has not worked.” For this reason, the purple formation advocates making “more serious efforts” through diplomatic channels. “Our commitment is clearly to peace,” he stressed, before adding that Parliament would have to say something about Sánchez’s foreign policy.
