On June 26, the first PP-Vox agreement can be staged in the Valencian Community. Otherwise, the popular would risk a lot in a vote where they could lose the majority in the Table of Les Corts Valencianes. If the Socialists remain firm in their decision not to give up either of the two positions that correspond to them as the second most voted party, the PP would be obliged to reach an agreement with the extreme right formation to ensure control for the new conservative majority of the governing body of Les Corts.
In this scenario, the vice-secretary for organization, Juan Francisco Pérez Llorca, has responded to the media that his formation will assess the possibility of ceding the Presidency of Les Corts in order to facilitate the investiture of his candidate for the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón.
Mazón, Pérez Llorca and the coordinator of the electoral program of the PP, Manuel Barrachina, have met this morning with the leaders of CompromÃs, headed by Joan BaldovÃ, to negotiate their support for the investiture of the popular candidate. As expected, CompromÃs has informed them that they will vote against after the PP told them that they do not plan to veto anyone or “make a sanitary cordon to Vox.” “I will not provide them with a free investiture so that they later end up agreeing on the policies with Vox,” Baldovà indicated.
Despite the discrepancies, CompromÃs does share with the PP the idea that the Valencian coalition be represented in the Mesa de Les Corts. Of course, CompromÃs believes that Vox should not be. The idea of the PP is that the four parties are at the Table with a global agreement that would avoid that first staging of a pact only with Vox. However, if the Socialists assert their 31 seats and do not open up to a global agreement, the PP will have no choice but to agree with Vox or even risk losing the Presidency of Les Corts.
It cannot be ignored that this is chosen by an absolute majority and, if there is not, in a second vote, where the candidacy of the list with the most votes would prevail, which leaves more room for the left if the PP and Vox pact is not closed beforehand. .
