The powerful storms are moving throughout Catalonia. A lot of caution, because Civil Protection has activated the Inuncat alert plan. In fact, Meteocat has issued a six out of six risk weather warning.
The intense downpours have caused serious incidents this afternoon in different parts of Catalonia, such as in Terrassa (Vallès Occidental), which has registered more than 110 liters in just two hours at the Lluís Companys square observatory, with the streams coming down full and the overflowing sewer network.
The forecast is for heavy rains also in the regions of Vallès Oriental, Moianès and Baix Llobregat with an intensity greater than 40 liters per square meter in 30 minutes.
The heavy rains in Catalonia this Tuesday have forced the closure of six roads in the provinces of Barcelona and Girona. Specifically, the C-16, the C-58 and the B-40 near Terrassa (Terrassa), the N-260 in the Vall de Bianya (Girona), the BV-3003 in Sant Mateu de Bages and the the BP-1103 between Bric and Monistrol de Montserrat (Barcelona), as detailed by the Catalan Traffic Service.
