Five people have had to be evacuated due to the collapse of a house in Palma that was under construction. The evacuees are five residents of the property who have been rehoused through the social services of Palma City Council. They must be out of the house until the house is repaired.
The adjoining houses will also be analyzed to determine the structure of the other buildings is in danger. The part that has collapsed is the annex of a ground floor where some operators were working, but a study of the entire area will be carried out to avoid new collapses.
The house collapsed at 11:00 p.m., according to the Palma City Council. The collapse caused a huge crash that alarmed the neighbors. They immediately called the emergency services and fire departments and the Palma Local Police immediately went to the area to check the damage and act in case there were victims.
The fire teams thoroughly searched the rubble and verified that no one was there since the neighbors had already left when they detected that something was happening. The house was under construction in a nearby annex. Now they want to determine if these works were the ones that could cause the collapse, although that circumstance will not be known until the investigation is finished.
A team of architects from Palma City Council plans to go to the site of the collapse today to make a report on the causes that could have caused the house to fall. The collapse caused enormous concern among the residents. The debris flooded the entire street, located in the Bonanova neighborhood, for which the Police had to cut off access to the street.
From the City Council it is highlighted that the event has only caused material damage, although the event caused a great alarm after the collapse of a five-story house in Teruel that had happened that same day. At this time, a fire department continues to remove debris and the area is still sealed off.
