The Municipal Police of Madrid has intervened 711,675 illegal cosmetic products, the largest seizure of this type in Spain, in an alleged parapharmacy located in the Usera district of Madrid and in a nearby store where the products were sold to the public.
The agents, reported the Municipal Police, carried out an inspection in the first establishment on the 1st, since in another previous operation, motivated by the irregular sale of a medicine in the district, this parapharmacy was closed and they suspected that in its Inside, numerous items of dubious legality were stored, reports Efe.
Upon entering the establishment, located on Marcelo Usera street, the police officers from the Comprehensive District Police Station observed thousands of cosmetic products and materials to make them, all piled up with obvious safety deficiencies, especially in terms of fire.
In addition, the person in charge of the premises was smoking and was throwing the butts on the floor of the premises, which had no fire extinguisher or ventilation system beyond the main door.
The police officers checked numerous boxes, containers, and labels scattered throughout the establishment that they used to manufacture products such as nail polishes, nail lacquers, false eyelashes, skin patches, and others.
These items were offered for sale in a nearby store, where the agents also intervened numerous exposed copies whose labeling was in the Chinese language.
The company responsible for the premises did not appear in the register of manufacturers or importers of cosmetic products of the Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products, so both establishments were sealed and available to the Community of Madrid.
