The leader of Vox, Santiago Abascal, has vindicated this Friday the figure of Vicente Barrera as first vice president of the Valencian Government and has celebrated that it is precisely a bullfighter who serves to “give the lace” to the former Executive of Ximo Puig in the Valencian Community. In addition, he has denounced the “criminalization” to which he believes that he has submitted to his head of the list for the regional elections, Carlos Flores, convicted of psychological violence against his ex-wife.

Abascal has vindicated the pact reached with the Popular Party to govern in the Valencian Community during the next legislature and which, as he has stressed, will serve to put “a real alternative” to left-wing policies on the political agenda.

The agreement resulted in the appointment of autonomous ‘number one’, Carlos Flores, as a candidate for Congress on July 23, since it had been marked as a “red line” by the Popular Party to reach an agreement due to the sentence to which he was sentenced more than 20 years ago for psychological violence against his ex-wife.

“He apologized for a sentence of twenty years ago and never laid a hand on a woman,” Abascal has defended, denouncing that he has been “criminalized” from “the left” but also from the national headquarters of the PP on Génova street, in the mouth of his spokesman Borja Sémper.

Instead, he recalled Sémper’s words defending the socialist Jesús Eguiguren, who was sentenced for assaulting his wife with an umbrella, or vindicating Bildu’s role as an actor in building the future of Euskadi.

In Abascal’s opinion, having a “service sheet in favor of freedom” like Sémper’s is not a “letter of marque” to say “nonsense.” The past of the ‘popular’ leader against terrorism in the Basque Country believes that it indicates that he did “the right thing at a certain time”, but can do it “wrong” later.

In exchange, Vox has chosen the bullfighter Vicente Barrera for the Vice Presidency of the Valencian Generalitat, whose resume as a lawyer and member of boards of directors has defended Abascal. But also, he has said that he finds it “fabulous” that a bullfighter serves to “give the finishing touch to the disastrous government that has existed in Valencia.”

In his opinion, the attacks against Barrera are due to attempts to “dizzy the partridge” of those who are “in bed” with “terrorists, coup plotters, have approved laws to release rapists and pedophiles and pardon corrupt, rapists and seditious people,” according to he said in an interview on Informa Radio, collected by Europa Press.
