The Juristes Valencians association has regretted this Friday the absence of references to the defense of Valencian civil law in the government agreement signed between the Popular Party of the CV and Vox. In addition, the entity that fights for the recovery of this historical right does not welcome the fact that Vox is in charge of defending this issue.
“As everyone knows, the future president of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, has publicly reiterated his commitment for the Corts to legislate again on matters of de facto unions, separation of assets, or shared custody, that is why we It causes concern that his words are not reflected in such an important agreement”, indicated José Ramón Chirivella, president of the Valencian legal group.
In this sense, Chirivella requests the president of the PPCV to create an Autonomous Secretary of Self-Government attached to the Presidency of the Generalitat to manage the recovery of Valencian civil law. “Vox has voted in the Corts and the Valencia City Council against the exercise of civil law provided for in the Estatut, so it cannot be responsible for the recovery of this hallmark in which they do not believe, and which a very majority support unions, business, cultural and festive associations of the entire CV, and also 541 municipalities” of the Valencian Community.
For this reason, Chirivella calls on the PPCV to guarantee that the Ministries of Justice and Culture will not have attached the Autonomous Secretary of Self-Government that they propose to be under the control of the future president, to “highlight the relevance of this matter for the Valencian identity, which has not advanced in Congress in the last four years due to the disinterest of the majority parties”.
Finally, the entity conveys to public opinion that “the constitutional reform proposal raised by the Corts to Congress 4 years ago, does not decline despite the dissolution of the Cortes Generales on the initiative of President Sánchez.” Thus, it has indicated that “the new deputies elected to Congress by the Valencian constituencies, including Diana Morant, González Pons, Macarena Montesinos or José Luis Ábalos must lead this cross-cutting claim from the lower house.”
