Marco Mezquida will star in the inaugural concert of the 35th edition of the Mercat de Música Viva de Viva with the pre-premiere of his new album Tornado. Marala, Mazoni and Julieta are some of the artists who will perform on the famous stage that is set up in Plaça Major in Vic and, on the Sucre stage, the Balkan Paradise Orchestra, The Tyets, Lildami and Tesa, among others, will perform. The Atlàntida Theater marquee, the Jazz Cava and the stage of the Plaza de los Màrtirs will also host part of the program offering concerts such as Xiula, Sexxeni, Caramelo and Figa Flawas. The agenda, as always, will be complemented by the programming of the OFF del Mercat, focused on collaborating with entities and institutions in the music sector.

The festival has presented this Tuesday the programming of its 35th edition that will take place from September 13 to 16. The event took place in the new Pilarin Bayés library, a newly opened space that wants to be a cultural center and support for creation. Marc Lloret and Oriol Roca have been responsible for explaining what the edition will be like and what will be the novelties that can be discovered: fifty-six different groups and artists will be on stage during the four days it lasts. This year the focus of the international programming is Italy, with five of the fourteen artistic proposals on the poster.

Lo Mercat expects to exceed 900 professional accreditations and also the arrival of a lot of international participation. Of the fifty-six artists that will pass through the Mercat, forty-six of these proposals will do so within the MMVV Pro programming and open to the public for all. There will be twenty-four album or show premieres, including six of their own co-productions: Marc Parrot, Xavi Lloses, Paula Valls, LaboratoriA, Blood Quartet

As its name indicates, the Mercat is not only a space to enjoy live music, but it is also an unmissable event to discover emerging talent and build relationships between professionals in the sector. The project that was born by the hand of Jordi Gratacós and Jordi Coll at the beginning of the nineties has not stopped expanding its offer, becoming one of the most anticipated musical events at the national level and, for a few years, at the national level.

The lineup is very diverse and combines projects ranging from the most traditional and root styles with stylistic mixtures that are difficult to define. Los Manolos, Antònia Font, the joint project of Lídia Pujol and Sílvia Comes are some of the groups that in their day began in past editions of a Mercat that once again demonstrates that it is a springboard for today’s voices to take momentum to consolidate tomorrow.
