The National Police have arrested a man who is accused of eight crimes of robbery with force in commercial establishments in the Madrid districts of Puente and Villa de Vallecas.

As reported by the Police this Wednesday in a statement, the detainee, who has already entered prison by order of the judicial authority, is also attributed three crimes of theft and theft of a vehicle.

The investigation began after learning of several robberies with force in different businesses between April and June.

The detained man was “specialized” in quickly accessing the premises, at night, using the escalation method -climbing to enter through windows or balconies- or forcing the access doors to later steal the cash register and other valuables, such as electronics devices.

To break the doors, he resorted to various means, such as manhole covers, mechanical jacks or even on one occasion, in the first week of June, he stole a vehicle with which days later he committed a moon landing.

When he managed to break the shop window, hitting it with the back of the vehicle, he entered the interior and came out shortly after with the cash register.

The police investigations culminated in his arrest on Tuesday of last week, the 13th, when he was able to identify the same man in all the scenarios.

In one of the three thefts attributed to him, he posed as cleaning staff to gain access to the changing rooms of a company and, thus, steal various personal effects.

Within a few days of each other, he also managed to access the interior of another office and steal a high-end bicycle from one of his employees.
