The In-Move by Railgrup cluster and TecnoCampus have signed a collaboration agreement to promote sustainable mobility and multimodal logistics. The agreement was signed on June 19 by the general director of the Mataró technology park, Josep Lluís Checa, and by the president of the conglomerate of companies dedicated to rail transport, Isaac Albert i Agut.

“The signing of the agreement is very positive for both parties and the assessment is very positive. We will see how it evolves over time, but it brings us closer to innovative projects in an environment of value and talent with which we are going to cooperate and provide feedback”, explains Isaac Albert i Agut, president of In-Move by Railgrup and CIMALSA.

The understanding between both organizations has the objective of driving and promoting training, innovation and the co-creation of projects linked to the transport sector for a period of four years.

“The agreement will materialize in various issues, including: carrying out transfer projects between research groups of both organizations; the development of the Citizen-based Mobility Data Observatory; or collaboration to develop joint projects financed by European programs”, explains Claudia Danesi, director of Transfer, Innovation and Business at TecnoCampus.

The agreement also provides for the cooperation of the academic part of TecnoCampus with the In-Move by Railgrup cluster through the work of the Chair of Circular Economy and Sustainability, the degree and master’s degree in Logistics and Maritime Business and the Hub4T permanent training center .

The agreement reached between TecnoCampus and In-Move by Railgrup is the materialization of a cooperation that has been taking place for more than a decade in the field of innovation and technology.

“The relationship between the Mataró technology park and our cluster already has a history of almost 11 years ago. The agreement was finalized this week after an analysis carried out by both management teams and realizing that it was the opportune moment to generate it”, says Isaac Albert i Agut.

TecnoCampus’ relationship with the conglomerate of companies was linked through a group of professionals who cooperated individually, but did not have a macro agreement that included this association. “The technology park saw the need to set up a collaboration agreement in different fields, but linked to knowledge, innovation, technology and talent”, explains Claudia Danesi.

And he adds: “The agreement came to fruition when we saw that we were already connected with In-Move by Railgrup through various interlocutors such as Dr. Jesús Martínez, coordinator of the Logistics and Maritime Business degree; Dr. Sonia Llorenç from the Chair of Circular Economy and Sustainability; and personally that he collaborated with the director of the cluster”.

Cooperation between the two organizations was also carried out indirectly through the Antena TrenLab incubator, a project formed behind the scenes by the Mataró City Council, TecnoCampus and Renfe, one of the members of the In-Move by Railgrup cluster.

The agreement between TecnoCampus and the In-Move by Railgrup cluster was signed in the city of Mataró, which is where the technology park is located. However, this will have repercussions in the Spanish and European spheres.

“Although the agreement that we are closing is local, since TecnoCampus is located in the Maresme, its impact will be much broader because the projects that arise from this agreement will benefit companies from Getafe, Madrid or Brussels. Our conglomerate is a global cluster with an international presence”, says Isaac Albert i Agut, president of In-Move by Railgrup.

On the other hand, the agreement will also have an impact on companies and startups as well as on the students of the Mataró technology park. “From a university point of view, students will have access to the job market, they will be able to carry out internships in the companies of the cluster or they will be able to be accompanied by the companies to define their final degree or Master’s projects,” he explains. the director of Transfer, Innovation and Business.

Startups and companies located in TecnoCampus will benefit from the agreement, since the agreement provides for the deployment of activities that promote the development of the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem through networking and knowledge transfer activities.

“In short, the assessment we make of the signing of the agreement between TecnoCampus and In-Move by Railgrup is that it can be very beneficial. It will promote the exchange of knowledge, joint research, technology transfer and the establishment of contact relationships in a sector, that of mobility, which is increasingly sustainable and technological”, concludes Claudia Danesi.
