The return of ‘Operation Triumph’ continues to take shape. The face-to-face castings are just around the corner, and they will take place throughout the summer in the big cities of Spain to choose the new “triumphs”. The Academy and candidate selection teams are ready, as are all the people who have launched to participate in advance, sending videos to social networks to be able to compete.

In this way, the ‘OT Cover’ initiative has been closed, the “precasting” system that returned to the Prime Video version to save queues at castings and speed up performances. To participate, those interested had to record a song a cappella and without effects for a maximum of 45 seconds. Then, it was time to post it on Instagram or TikTok with the hashtag

As the program has announced on its social networks, more than 30,000 short cover videos have been submitted to be able to access it before anyone else. All this material has managed to accumulate the overwhelming figure of 92 million views, an unprecedented success in the history of the format. Likewise, among all these applicants, 323 “Prime passes” have already been distributed so that the winners can send their talent to the judges without having to queue.

For the rest of the applicants who have not reached the online tests, there are the face-to-face castings that will start at the beginning of July. To facilitate the task of the selectors, the program team published a list of 50 songs on Amazon Music, from which the applicants must choose their piece to interpret. The list covers a large number of genres, languages ??and artists. From “The universe above me” by Amaral to “Fever” by Bad Gyal, passing through “Unstoppable” by Sia or “The Best” by Tina Turner.

The selection processes for this new edition of ‘Operación Triunfo’ will start in Barcelona on July 3. From that day until September 19, including a break in August, the caravan of the program will pass through seven other cities: Zaragoza, Santiago, Bilbao, Valencia, Las Palmas, Malaga and Seville, before ending in Madrid. Those who want to appear must be of legal age with the DNI or residence permit in order.

In total there will be up to four selection phases. The first consists of singing a cappella for a minimum of 20 seconds one of the 50 songs on the list. The second phase will be a casting behind closed doors, to be agreed by the program on the day, time and place. If this second cut is passed, a final casting will be held, from which about 20 potential contestants will end up leaving. These will compete before the public in a ‘Gala 0’ where they will end up determining the 16 final participants.
