The Feminist Coordinator of the Camp de Morvedre has gathered this Sunday in Valencia to claim that they are not going to take “absolutely not a step back” in the rights achieved that “have cost a lot of time, lives and effort” in the face of the “unconstitutional, empty” speech and aggressive against a large part of the population” of Vox.

Under the slogan ‘Davant l’extrema dreta, no callem’, the protesters have met in the Plaza de Manises, in front of the Palau de la Generalitat, at 11:00 a.m. to show their disagreement with the fact that “there is an extreme right party within of the institutions” and emphasize that “the rights achieved will be defended.

The attendees shouted slogans like “No to fascism”, “Long live the feminist struggle” or “Our rights are not touched”. They also carried posters with messages such as ‘If the present is struggle, the future will be life’, ‘Feminism to stand up to fascism’ or ‘The desire for freedom is greater than fear’.

The Coordinator’s spokeswoman, Lola San Hermelando, has indicated, in statements to the media, that this protest has been a “quick boost” due to the result of the 28M elections with which they do not agree because “there is a far-right party in the institutions”. A pact that will materialize this Monday with the joint vote of PP and Vox so that the far-right formation presides over Les Corts Valencianes.

In this sense, he has also expressed his rejection of the existence of “an agreement between the PP and a party that no one should represent because their speeches, most of the time, are unconstitutional, empty and aggressive against a large part of the population”.

Likewise, he has denounced that most of Vox’s discourse “has to do with personal decisions about the bodies”: “We do not understand why they have to decide about our bodies, we have sufficient capacities, we are of legal age.”

“We were fighting for the rights that we still have to achieve, but now more than ever, we say that we are absolutely not going to take a single step back from the rights that we are achieving and that have cost a lot of time, lives and the efforts of many people. “, has manifested.

Likewise, he regretted that in the media “true atrocities” are heard and “time is spent on speeches that were already more than talked about, theorized and surpassed.” “We are in 2023, there are many problems, we have a land and a world that we all have to take care of, here we are all part of the same territory,” he pointed out.

The spokeswoman has affirmed that the fight for rights is “against anyone who tries to take them away”: “We have also done it with the progressive parties with whom we have also had meetings and we have criticized because we have understood that we have not been left a space to speak and that has meant that sometimes the law or these changes have directly affected us”.
