The Tarragona Juvenile Court has sentenced the minor who participated in the robbery of a bingo hall in Tortosa to seven years and three months of closed confinement, and one year of supervised prison with educational assistance, in which a worker was murdered. establishment and injured a customer.
The young man is accused of being the author of a crime of attempted robbery with violence, a crime of murder and attempted murder. In addition, both he and his parents, since they are jointly and severally liable, must face compensation of 108,690 euros for the family of the fatality, one of 21,965 euros for the injured client and the one determined by the damage judgment for the bingo representative .
As described in the sentence, it is considered proven that the minor convicted by the Tarragona court participated with three adults in the robbery of the Tortosa bingo hall. The events took place on September 19, 2022. At about 00:15 in the morning, when the bingo hall was still open to the public, the convicted minor and two of the thieves entered the establishment, while a third watched. Each carried a gun and they entered wearing ski masks to hide their faces.
The three assailants went to a customer, took the phone from him so that he could not call for help, and then shot him in the abdomen. Later they went to the worker, “that she collaborated with the thieves”, but at a moment when she turned around they shot her in the neck. The woman died hours later from the injury.
The victim, wounded in the abdomen, managed to activate the establishment’s alarm button before being shot. She went to one of the bingo offices and called 112 from another phone. Then, the juvenile court and the adults who accompanied him left the establishment “without stealing anything.”
