The last skyscraper designed by the late Ricardo Bofill has been inaugurated this morning in Valencia. The Ikon skyscraper is located at one of the entrances to the city, on Avenida de las Cortes Valencianas, and stands as an architectural landmark, as it is the tallest residential building in the city with more than 110 meters high and 30 floors .
Signed by Ricardo Bofill’s RBTA Architecture Workshop, the figure of the architect was honored at the event through a video where architecture was valued through the words of the architect himself, extolling his legacy.
The presentation ceremony was attended by the Valencia City Councilor for Urban Planning and Housing Juan Giner Corell; Saïd Hejal, CEO of Kronos Real Estate Group, Rui Meneses Ferreira, CEO of Kronos Homes, Pablo Bofill, CEO of the Architecture Workshop (RBTA) and the artist Luna Paiva, who has created the sculpture located at the entrance of the building that Kronos has donated to the city of Valencia as a sign of its commitment to art.
Saïd Hejal, CEO and founder of Kronos Real Estate Group, has stated that today “is a very important day for Kronos. 4 years ago, together with Ricardo and Pablo Bofill, we presented to the world what was going to be the IKON tower. Today this project is a reality and is much more than the tallest building in Valencia and the new icon of architecture. It is the legacy of an iconic architect and confirms our commitment to architecture.”
During the event, Pablo Bofill pointed out that “it is always a pleasure to work hand in hand with Kronos Homes, because of their commitment and passion for architecture, for trusting architects to beautify environments, allowing us to be part of the legacy of cities” .
The building inaugurated today represents an investment of more than 80 million euros and has 203 homes (from 1 to 4 bedrooms, penthouses and common spaces for residents, such as a community pool with solarium, gym and a gourmet social area), of which 96% are sold.
The tower has a BREEAM certificate, which guarantees the sustainable construction of the entire project. The lobby is covered by a 7×4 meter work of art by the artist Santiago Ydáñez who wants to demonstrate Kronos’s commitment to art, which has received the European Property Award for the best high-rise residential project.
