The president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, expressed this Wednesday his “commitment” to the rights of the LGTBI group of people, as well as against gender violence, in a political context in which both issues are topical. of the negotiations between PP and Vox to reach agreements for the governability of several autonomous communities, and of Vox’s position regarding these issues, betting, for example, on the concept of “intrafamily violence” instead of “violence of gender” or ‘macho violence’.

Moreno has taken advantage of the day that LGTBI pride is celebrated internationally to express his commitment to the cause, both in the parliamentary debate that took place on Wednesday and on his Twitter account, where he has published that “love is too big to lock it away in a closet. We all have the right to love, to be loved and to be happy”, said Moreno, who stressed that he believes “in a society free of stigma and discrimination” and that “Andalusia is equality, respect and tolerance”.

Juanma Moreno has taken advantage of his speech at the beginning of the general policy debate that is being held this Wednesday in the plenary session of the Andalusian Parliament to defend that the government he presides over “does not have ideological walls or partisan borders.”

“We govern for all Andalusians and, therefore, in dialogue and also in understanding, there is only the red line of loyalty and the defense of Andalusia”, an autonomous community that, “obviously, is plural, diverse and, for therefore, a land of freedom for all of us who live in it”, added the president of the Board.

Moreno then alluded to the International Day of Lgtbi Pride that is celebrated this Wednesday, June 28, and has wanted to reiterate from the Plenary Session of Parliament the “commitment” of his government “in the defense of the freedom and diversity that exists in our society”.

“A commitment that we embodied in December 2020 with the creation of the Andalusian LGTBI Council, and that will continue with the approval of the first Strategy for Equal Treatment and non-discrimination of LGTBI people in Andalusia”, according to the president.

Later, in another moment of his speech, Moreno has vindicated the “real equality of women and men” as “an absolute priority” of his government, “with policies that are transversal”, and with which “the protagonism is widening and opportunities for women in our society.

In this regard, he has boasted that “the Andalusian Women’s Institute has the largest budget in history since its creation”, so that “it has increased by 19% since 2018, to reach 50 million euros”, and He stressed that the Board continues “a merciless fight against sexist violence that must be a common and indisputable objective of the entire Andalusian society”.

Moreno stressed that the Board has made “available to the more than 100 centers dependent on the IAM an innovative prevention tool that will allow assessing not only the social and psychological risk, but also being able to assess it even when no type of complaint has been filed” .

In addition, the president has announced that this Thursday the Minister of Social Inclusion, Youth, Families and Equality, Loles López, “will sign an agreement with the hotel and leisure employers of Andalusia to collaborate in the prevention of violence against women”.

Moreno has asserted that only “all of society, in a coordinated and cooperative manner, will we be able to eradicate this scourge of gender violence, of sexist violence in Andalusia.”
