Electric mobility has more and more followers and, due to this, manufacturers seek to conceive alternatives that stand out from the rest and that attract the attention of users. The firm Eysing, specialized in electric mopeds, is located in this area. If last year, the brand collaborated with Pininfarina to give birth to its PF40 model, now it is the turn of another more affordable but equally striking proposal.
This is the Pioneer, a moped that, as soon as you see it, makes its vintage spirit clear. And it is that it is endowed with a retro-inspired design that is reminiscent of the British scrambler-type motorcycles of the last century. The shape of the chassis, the position of the handlebars or the wheels with bicycle-style spokes are some of the features that highlight its classic character.
And not to be overlooked is its large front headlight and sizable fenders. But, despite its appearance, we are dealing with a new batch vehicle that is distinguished by its emission-free mobility. Another of the outstanding points of the Pioneer is its lightness, since it registers a weight of around 60 kg, unusual in its segment.
This contributes to providing more agile and maneuverable dynamic behavior than heavier alternatives. The vehicle is powered by an electric motor mounted on the rear hub. Said motor offers a power of 1.5 kW, a maximum torque of 60 Nm and allows the moped to reach a speed of 45 km/h (electronically limited).
The novelty of Eysing incorporates a battery that allows it to provide a range of up to 80 km. To facilitate the recharging process, which takes about four hours from a conventional household power outlet, the battery is removable. In terms of personalization, the vehicle is offered in three different color possibilities and you can even choose the type of seat and the color of the leather.
As for price, it should be noted that the Pioneer has a cost of 5,500 euros. It must be taken into account that the manufacturer also offers another moped in its range that integrates the same structure as the Pioneer and that shares most of its components. The main differences between the two are in aesthetics, performance and price.
The name of this other model is Tailor Made, and it is characterized by its greater customization capacity, with specific design details that seek to make the vehicle even more attractive and showy. Apart from this, it should be noted that it provides more power when compared to the Pioneer. And it is that the Tailor Made has a 2.0 kW motor.
All this means that the price of the Tailor Made is much higher than that of the Pioneer. In fact, it costs almost double, since it requires an outlay of 10,110 euros.
