The organizers of the Mallorca Cycling Challenge, Unisport Consulting, have asked the International Cycling Union (UCI) for dates in the calendar for next season to hold a women’s Challenge, in the days prior to the men’s event, scheduled between the 24th and the January 28, 2024.

The disputes of this first Mallorca Cycling Challenge for women would be from Saturday 20 to Monday 22 January. After a day of rest, the men’s event will be held, which opens the professional cycling calendar in Europe each season.

The format requested by Unisport Consulting for the women’s Challenge is the same as that of the men’s event: a competition with three different races of one day each, as if they were classics, to be held on Saturday 20, Sunday 21 and on Monday, January 22, 2024.

After that, there would be a rest day as a prelude to the Garden Hotels Luxcom Cycling Challenge in Mallorca, which is scheduled to celebrate its 33rd edition from January 24 to 28, with five races.

As the organizers of the Challenge Mallorca point out in a note “this circumstance would allow the teams with female and male structures to be able to move both formations at the same time to compete in Mallorca or even do it days in advance to carry out training sessions prior to the start it’s from the season”.
