As much as Joana Sanz tries to continue with her life and turn the page, the controversy haunts her. The 31-year-old model is going through one of the most difficult years of her life and, despite the fact that she has asked on multiple occasions to be left alone, the followers of her ex-partner and the media continue to place her in the media focus.

Last January, just a few days after the Canary Islander lost her mother to cancer, Joana Sanz had to see how the authorities took her husband, the Brazilian soccer player Dani Alves, into custody for an alleged rape of a young woman.

The athlete went to prison for the alleged crime of sexual assault on a young woman in a Barcelona nightclub on New Year’s Eve. Although the Brazilian denied the facts ad nauseam, the Judge denied his request for provisional release due to the risk of flight and the large amount of evidence of the crime that she had in his possession.

Although Joana Sanz initially supported her husband and declared that she was not going to leave him alone “in the worst moment of his life”, shortly after she decided to put an end to their love story and published a handwritten letter on her Instagram explaining the motives and reasons that had led him to make that decision.

Once he left Alves, he changed his official version before the judge and confirmed that he had had sexual relations with the alleged victim, something he had denied until then “for fear of his wife’s reaction.” The soccer player admitted that they had had sex, but assured that the other party consented at all times and that he was calm because he knew that he had not raped the girl.

Despite the subsequent confession, many fans of the couple and fans who support Alves did not understand Sanz and harshly criticized her. The Brazilian’s family also reproached her from Tenerife for her attitude and for abandoning her husband at such a difficult time in her life. Misunderstood, alone and overwhelmed by media pressure, Joana Sanz left Barcelona and began a new life away from the case.

Dani Alves’ mother yesterday uploaded an image to the stories of her official Instagram profile that many of her followers have interpreted as a direct dart at the Canarian model Joana Sanz.

The image is a collage in which his son, Dani Alves, appears with a dog. The woman compares this animal with people: ”If you feed a dog for three days it will remember you for 30 years. If you feed a person for 30 years, they will forget you in three days.”

For now, it has not been confirmed that the photograph and the phrase are dedicated to his ex-in-law, but many users from different social networks are commenting that it is more than evident that the woman is angry with Sanz and that this publication is proof of this.
