One of Kate Middleton’s favorite annual events is the Wimbledon tournament. The Princess of Wales is a great tennis fan-she is also her family-hers and she could recently be seen in action in a nice video where she worked as a ball boy under the watchful eye of Roger Federer.
Prince William’s wife and the tennis player maintain a great friendship. This past Tuesday, Kate attended the tournament amid great expectations and took her place in the stands accompanied by Roger and his wife Mirka Federer. An appointment in which the princess once again exuded sympathy and style, with a nod to Lady Di included.
Middleton demonstrated once again that she is very aware of the iconic style of her husband’s mother. For the occasion, she debuted a beautiful mint green double-breasted blazer from Balmain’s Resort 2021 collection that incorporated one of the most characteristic details of eighties fashion: shoulder pads.
The piece, valued at 2,200 euros, stood out for its structured shoulders with lapels, a style that Princess Diana liked very much and that she wore on several occasions during that decade. In addition, the jacket had contrasting white lapels, matching the button fastening.
Middleton combined this design with a pleated midi-length skirt in white that added a sophisticated touch to this vintage look that Lady Di could have perfectly worn in the eighties. She completed the styling look with pumps and a bag, also white to create a contrast with the jacket.
As for her beauty look, the princess chose to leave her hair loose, with the parting on one side and the most sophisticated waves. In several images of her, one could also appreciate her gold-plated thick knot earrings and baroque pearl pendants that she combined with her inseparable engagement ring and a natural stone bracelet from Sézane.
