The footballer Dani Alves, on provisional release since last Monday, appeared this Thursday, at 9:20 in the morning, before the secretariat of section 21 of the Barcelona Court, in the first of the weekly appearances imposed on him by the court by setting a bail of one million euros to allow him to leave prison.
The footballer will have to go to the court every Friday to sign. Today he did it on Thursday because this Friday is a holiday.
Alves has gone to court accompanied by Inés Guardiola, the lawyer who took charge of his defense a few months before the trial, after asking Cristóbal Martell’s permission, and who, against majority public opinion, achieved a much lower sentence. to which the accusations requested, four and a half years.
Until the appeals are resolved and the sentence is final, a period that can last several years, Dani Alves will not be able to leave Spain. He will have to always be contactable and available at a telephone number that he has already provided to the court. He will also not be able to approach or try to communicate with the victim.
Alves has received boos both when entering and leaving the court. One of the people who gathered on the other side of the street, in front of the courts, shouted “fucking fucking rapist.”
