The Sasemar 101 Maritime Rescue plane has located around 12 noon this Monday a boat, with some 200 people, more than 130 kilometers south of the island of Gran Canaria, according to sources from the institutional entity to Europa Press.

Specifically, the Salvage plane has warned about the sighting of the vessel after 12 hours, indicating that it was 71 miles (131.49 kilometers) south of the island of Gran Canaria, and activating the Caliope guardmarine that is expected to come to the rescue over the next few hours.

Until the guardamaran reaches the coordinates where the cayuco is, it has diverted to a merchant ship that was in the area, the MSC Marta, so that it is close to the boat.

This cayuco, they indicate, could be the one that some 200 people have been looking for for several days after leaving Senegal and that has involved the activation of air rescue resources, as well as the radio warning to all vessels navigating in the south of the islands of Gran Canaria and Tenerife.
