The President of the Government and socialist candidate, Pedro Sánchez, and the head of the opposition and popular candidate, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, starred yesterday in a rough and tense duel in the first and only face-to-face of the campaign, organized by Atresmedia .

With continuous interruptions between both opponents that, on occasion, made it difficult to follow the debate, the most repeated phrases throughout more than 100 minutes were “let me speak” or others such as “it’s not true”. So, it is not surprising that in the average evaluation both contenders, who stepped on each other in the interventions, suspend.

The face-to-face, structured in four blocks, analyzed the economic situation in the first place, with attention to matters such as inflation, employment or housing; social policies in matters such as health and education and those relating to the matter of equality and against gender violence; the post-electoral pacts, and ultimately the institutional and territorial politics, in which the situation of Catalonia entered.

Eight columnists from La Vanguardia analyze the face-to-face and rate the candidates. Sánchez gets a 3.87 and Feijóo, one more point, a 4.87, brushing the pass.
