Fans of hypercars will probably know the Koenigsegg Gemera, an extraordinary car in every way. Power is undoubtedly one of the qualities of the vehicle capable of leaving you breathless. And it is that it is a hybrid car of no less than 1,724 CV distributed between a three-cylinder biturbo engine and three electric motors.
The thermal engine is 2.0 liters, offers a power of 600 CV and is responsible for driving the front wheels. For its part, with regard to the three electric motors, one of them is also intended for the front wheels (400 CV), while the others are in charge, respectively, of the rear wheels (500 CV each).
In addition, the impressive hypercar from the Swedish firm has four-wheel drive and steering, as well as torque vectoring. Thanks to all this, the car is capable of “flying” from 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.9 seconds and reaching a top speed of no less than 400 km/h.
Well, it seems that Koenigsegg does not find these amazing figures enough and the firm has decided to take another step to obtain even more amazing data. At the inauguration of the expansion of the brand’s facilities in Ängelholm (Sweden), the founder of the company, Christian von Koenigsegg, gave the news that amazed everyone present.
The Gemera will receive the 5.0-liter V8 engine, which is also used by the brand in the Jesko. Of course, customers who want this option must be willing to pay about 400,000 additional euros for this optional engine (2.1 million euros in total). And that, in terms of performance, what does it mean? Well, with this integrated alternative, the Gemera will be able to deliver a huge power of 2,300 hp and a maximum torque of 2,750 Nm.
Thanks to this, the model will rise even further among the top positions of the most powerful street cars in the world. It must be remembered that the aforementioned V8 engine delivers 1,625 hp of power and 1,500 Nm of maximum torque on its own, a performance that will be added to the trio of electric motors in the case of the Gemera.
This optional novelty will be accompanied by a new transmission capable of managing so many horsepower and such high torque. In this way, in this version, the hypercar will integrate the nine-speed gearbox that is also equipped with the Jesko. Only 300 units of this brutal Gemera will roll off the assembly line, making it an exclusive choice few drivers will be able to own.
Also, customers who decide for it, can also choose the Ghost Package, which also adds various aerodynamic adjustments. The first deliveries of the 2,300 hp Gemera will begin in 2025. In the meantime, you can see the current model in full detail in the video that accompanies this article.
