In The Photos of the Readers of La Vanguardia we can see the landscape between the mists around the Castle of Tagamanent, a beautiful place in Montseny. This building is declared a Cultural Property of National Interest.
This medieval castle was built on the hill of the same name, 1056 meters high. It has great historical importance as it is located between the “county of Osona” and the “county of Barcelona”.
It is known, in fact, that the Counts of Barcelona, ??around the year 1009, had a room-residence in this castle.
The fortress is located next to the church. Remains have been found that confirm that there were Iberian settlements in the enclave of the castle, which was documented by medieval chroniclers for the first time in the year 945.
The castle was a surveillance center for the Valley of the Congost, the route that joined the Vallès and Osona. In the 15th century it passed by marriage to the Montbui family and then to the Rocabertis, viscounts of Rocabertí-Perelada, although with real jurisdiction since the 16th century.
