The bullfighter Francisco José Espada has been spectacularly caught by the fifth bull from the French ranch owned by Robert Margé that takes place in Las Ventas.

Espada was giving a series of bernadinas in the final stretch of a task of great merit to a bull with great trappings and tremendous horning when he violently picked him up. The right-hander fell on the sand and, there, he again hit it and raised it.

Turned around like a puppet, the pitons pointing at different parts of his anatomy, he tried to protect his head with his hands as he fell.

Shocked, the assistants carried him to the infirmary and in the square there was an aura of great concern and a silence broken by the disapproval of the fans of a small group of spectators who had protested the injured bullfighter just before the mishap.

Already in the infirmary, the bullfighter has been intervened urgently by a goring from two trajectories.
