A driver was injured last night in Castro Urdiales (Cantabria) when his car fell into an area of ??cliffs in the vicinity of the Paseo de la Ballena cemetery.

The injured man, a 48-year-old man from Castro Urdiales, was able to get out of the vehicle by his own means and was initially treated by firefighters from the municipal park and the Local Police, who entered the area.

Upon the arrival of the Cantabrian Government helicopter, the doctor and the rescuer descended by means of a crane operation to the cliffs to immobilize, medicate and stabilize the injured man, polytraumatized, as reported by the Government of Cantabria.

He was urgently transferred to the Seve Ballesteros airport and, from there by 061 ambulance, to the Valdecilla Hospital.

The 112 Emergency Attention Center received a warning call alerting of the accident around 9:00 p.m.
