A dangerous fugitive with a European arrest warrant issued by the Polish authorities for an alleged murder that, although it occurred in 1997, has recently been clarified, has been arrested in Alicante when he got out of his vehicle.
According to the National Police, the fugitive had allegedly been part of a criminal group in his country dedicated to cross-border smuggling and faces 25 years in prison for his relationship with the murder of a man in Poland in 1997, whose body has been found. located recently in the Lower Silesia area with gunshot wounds.
The Polish authorities consider that in the 1990s he participated in an armed conflict near the border with the Czech Republic and Germany, called “The Zgorzelec War” or “War of the Spirits”, for control of smuggling routes.
The arrest took place within the framework of an operation led by the Central Bureau of Investigation of Poland (CBSP) that identified two men as alleged perpetrators of the homicide, one of whom was located in the Mazovia area while the other was he thought he might have fled to Spain.
For this reason, the Polish police contacted the Fugitive Location section of the National Police and the investigation led to a home in Orihuela where the fugitive lived with his partner, who they hurriedly abandoned a few hours before the arrival of the Spanish police.
However, shortly after the vehicle used by the fugitive was located and it was confirmed that he had crossed the border between Poland and Germany, deducing that he could have returned to Spain and a second surveillance device worked, achieving his capture in Alicante, at the moment in which he got out of a car and with various documents, cash and three mobile devices.
