The capital of Osona, Vic, has placed itself this Tuesday, with 45 degrees, in the group of Catalan towns that lead the ranking of the highest temperatures of this second summer heat wave.
This is attested by this photograph in Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia on a day when the Darnius-Boadella reservoir (Girona) has also reached 45.1 degrees Celsius, becoming the new maximum temperature in Catalonia by exceeding 43.8 degrees in Alcarràs (Tarragona) in June 2019.
Throughout the day, Navata has also reached 45.1 degrees, as well as several towns that have exceeded 44 degrees, such as Anglès, Artés or Banyoles.
According to the Meteorological Service of Catalonia (SMC), this temperature is the “highest” measured by the Network of Automatic Meterological Stations, followed by Anglès, with 44.8 degrees, and Navata, with 44. 3.
In a tweet on Tuesday, the SMC explained that one of the most decisive elements in this temperature has been the overheated garbí wind, which has not allowed it to be attenuated by the effect of the sea breeze.
