João Félix, Atlético de Madrid footballer, said on Tuesday that Barcelona was always his “first option” and stated that he would love to join the Barça club because it would be a “dream” that would come true.

The Portuguese international, on loan for part of the past year at Chelsea, is waiting to resolve his future and, in statements to the Italian journalist specialized in the football transfer market Fabrizio Romano, his first option is the club chaired by Joan Laporta .

“I would love to play for Barça. Barcelona has always been my first choice and I would love to join Barça. It was always my dream since I was a child. If it happens, it will be a dream come true for me,” Joao Félix said.

Atlético signed the Portuguese for 127 million euros in 2019, the highest amount paid by the rojiblanco club in its history, and has a contract until 2027. However, João Félix has never adapted to coach Cholo’s style of play Simeone, who prevails, above all, the defensive aspect.

Barça is in a very delicate financial situation, with hardly any capacity to carry out any major operation, so the arrival of João Félix to the Barça team is currently a financial utopia.
