The end of Sálvame continues to bring large-scale repercussions in the world of television. Since the afternoon show presented by Jorge Javier Vázquez lowered its blinds after fourteen years on the air, Telecinco has not managed to recover audiences. The premieres of Así es la vida and Mía es la venganza have not managed to raise the figures, and The Ana Rosa program closed its cycle by losing viewers to Aruser@s on La Sexta.
To finish rounding off the play, other journalists and regular collaborators from the world of communication have taken the opportunity to criticize the format. It has been the case of Paula Vázquez, who on her return to La 1 de Televisión Española with El puente de las mentiras has taken the opportunity to put the Mediaset program back and a half. Some statements that have been antagonized from the other side of the pond by one of her auxiliary presenters: María Patiño.
The Ferrol communicator has responded in X to her compatriot, with a message that did not mention her directly but that many have interpreted as a dart. Patiño has recriminated that Vázquez’s words are actually a direct attack on the viewer, not on his workers, and that they are the objective towards which he must be used. The collaborator has written these words from Mexico, where she participates in the new Sálvame project for Netflix.
“Look, some of you insist on criticizing a format like Sálvame, without realizing that the one they really despise is the viewer. Number one rule of a professional in the media, work for the public, not for our navel. Good morning from Mexico ”, she stated. Patiño has found responses of different kinds, but most were supportive: “For better or worse, Sálvame made us feel. Now Telecinco only produces indifference. We miss you”.
Vázquez sharply criticized the existence of Sálvame during a series of interviews granted to present his new program. In them, he discarded any filter to express out loud what he felt about the Mediaset magazine. “The same is that we have deteriorated entertainment to the point of putting a camera in the toilet. That’s it, we have already left behind that moment where ugly was a novelty, ”he commented before journalists.
Similarly, the communicator took the opportunity to throw another dart at her presenter, Jorge Javier Vázquez. “The guest has to sit where they are most favored by the light, and not where they get terrible dark circles because the presenter is amused that the other goes wrong,” said the new face of RTVE, referring to the ways and methods with which the Catalan presenter treated his guests on the Fuencarral set.
