Family is turning out to be a delicate matter for Rocío Carrasco. The well-known television figure had been involved in a complicated judicial situation with her son David Flores for nearly five years. Carrasco was denounced for an alleged crime of family abandonment, after not paying the young man’s pension since 2018. The hearing that both had on June 28 had to be postponed, but now there is a final verdict.

Rocío Jurado’s daughter has been sentenced to pay a fine valued at 13,000 euros for her repeated non-payments with the Flores pension. This is how judge Juan Antonio Toro ruled this Wednesday morning: “I must condemn and I condemn Rocío Carrasco Mohedano as the author responsible for a crime of non-payment of pensions.” A compensation to which other figures are added, derived from the crime committed during the last five years.

According to the judge’s opinion, Carrasco ignored the payment that he had to pay David Flores each month for food, around 200 euros. That is why, in addition to the fine, he must contribute five euros a day for six months, thus adding a total of 900. A relatively minor amount for this type of crime, according to media such as El Periódico. In these cases, the sentence is usually around fines of between 6 and 24 months, even up to a year in prison.

The presenter claimed to have all her assets seized as an explanation for the non-payment. A reason that she has not finished convincing the judge, for which she has ended up ruling in favor of David Flores. The son assured that he only wanted to receive the money that his mother had not transferred to him in this window, for which it was agreed by both parties to withdraw the possible prison sentence, which amounted to one year according to the request of the Prosecutor’s Office.

According to the initial account of the accusation, Carrasco had to pay the monthly payment of 200 euros to help his son financially, since a sentence decreed that he was “economically dependent” due to his disability. A monetary payment that was never produced between 2018 and this 2023. Although there was no meeting in court at the end of June, this situation has ended up being solved in a relatively simple way.

However, Rocío Carrasco has more pending issues in court, this time on the other side of the bench. On July 6, the trial against her ex-husband, Antonio David Flores, for a punishable insolvency crime, should have begun, after the television figure denounced that he did not receive any type of pension when his children, minors at the time, lived with her. However, the person involved did not appear.
