In a matter of hours, Genoveva Casanova’s life has changed completely. The one who was the daughter-in-law of the Duchess of Alba suffered a pulmonary embolism that later caused a pulmonary infarction for which she has been admitted to a Madrid hospital for eight days.

Luckily, the ex-wife of Cayetano Martínez de Irujo has already been discharged and is now continuing her recovery at home. As explained by the magazine ¡Hola!, Genoveva still finds it difficult to speak and is out of breath very quickly, symptoms that are widespread among people who have suffered such serious ailments.

Now, days after the big scare and after leaving the hospital, the Mexican has used her social networks to communicate her current status. Casanova has published two images of two totally different moments: one in the hospital and another already after being discharged. “2 photos… One from the 21st, the day after I was admitted to the hospital for a pulmonary thromboembolism that caused a pulmonary infarction, a stroke, and damage to one of the ventricles of my heart… And another one this morning, going for a walk to the Retirement, 15 days later, already in the process of a long recovery ”, he explained.

Genoveva Casanova wanted to thank the doctors for their work: “I cannot express how grateful I am for having the opportunity to continue here and enjoy my loved ones for a while longer. To my doctors, and the medical team that treated me, THANK YOU SO MUCH!! To everyone who has sent me messages of love and support… Also thank you very much!”, she has written.

Finally, Casanova has sent a message of prevention to all his followers encouraging them to carry out regular medical check-ups to avoid risky situations like the one he has suffered. “I have verified how important it is to have a thorough analysis done and see how we are doing, just in case… This way we can prevent major problems. In my case it would have been the D Dimers, which reflect blood coagulation”, he has sentenced.
