A man has been arrested in Vitoria as the alleged perpetrator of a sexual assault on a minor, as announced by the Councilor for Security, Iñaki Gurtubai.
In an interview on Radio Vitoria, Gurtubai has indicated that the attack occurred this past Saturday and joins the one that occurred on the first day of the La Blanca festivities, which started last Friday, and for which a 49-year-old man was arrested years that on Sunday he was released after taking his statement. The Ertzaintza took proceedings of the alleged crime and passed the man’s fingerprints to the National Police.
As stated by the person in charge of Security, the second case of sexual assault would affect a minor woman and for this reason “less information” has been provided by the City Council and there has not been an explicit condemnation of the board of spokespersons, as as it did in the first case. The alleged attacker was arrested “thanks to citizen collaboration.”
Iñaki Gurtubai also warned of the increase in robberies and thefts -especially of wallets and mobile phones- during these days and called to monitor belongings. According to data provided by the Security Department, only on the first day of the festivities, 68 robberies were reported.
