The National Police have arrested a 92-year-old man in Valle Guerra, on the island of Tenerife, for the alleged sexist murder of his partner, a 91-year-old woman.
Police sources assured that the victim showed signs of violent death, according to the Efe agency.
According to data from the Ministry of Equality, there are 33 women murdered by their partners or ex-partners so far this year.
According to data from the Government Delegation against Gender Violence, the total number of murdered since 2003, the year in which the data began to be counted, rises to 1,217.
