Nuria Rábano will wear the green Wolfsburg shirt. The 24-year-old left-back signs for the next three seasons, until June 30, 2026 and will wear the number 14. “I’m really looking forward to facing this new challenge,” the former Barça player told the club’s media German. “Wolfsburg has been one of the best in Europe for many years and even in Spain it is well known how professional the work they do is. So I am very happy to take this step in my career”, she has said.
Barça had informed her this summer that they did not have her for the next season. She has played 24 games between the League, the Cup, the Super Cup and the Champions League, but with Fridolina Rolfö occupying the left side, the young footballer has not been able to get a place in the Catalan team, which she arrived in 2022 from Real Sociedad. Despite having one more year on his contract, the Blaugrana club decided not to have her and now they are heading to the runners-up in Europe.
Galician by birth, he made his debut in the First Division with Deportivo in the 2019 season, with which he had achieved promotion to the top flight the previous year. His great performance in the sports club, as well as in the lower categories of the national team, even making his senior debut in a friendly last year, caught the attention of Real Sociedad, and then Barcelona.
“We had Nuria on our list since her time in San Sebastián,” acknowledges the head of women’s football at Wolfsburg, Ralf Kellermann. “She impressed us with her good performances and regularity. We couldn’t reach an agreement then because she chose Barcelona. Now we are very glad that we met after all.”
