The Civil Guard of Valencia has arrested a 28-year-old man for the crime of violating graves and desecration of corpses for having allegedly damaged several graves and had removed 5 coffins from the niches in the Guadasséquies cemetery.

According to Civil Guard sources, in the operation, called “Tread”, it has been possible to locate and identify this man of Moroccan nationality who is also accused of the crimes of robbery with force (attempted), damage and usurpation of civil status.

On July 16, a complaint was received in which it was reported that numerous damages had appeared and several graves had been damaged in the Guadasséquies cemetery. A patrol went to the place and with the support of the staff of the Judicial Police team, an inspection of the place was carried out.

It was found that there were five desecrated graves whose coffins had been removed from the niches and that there had also been other damage to the infrastructure of the place.

After taking steps, it was possible to verify the identity of the author, who had been celebrating the festivities in the neighboring town of Alfarrasí that took place on the 15th and later entered the cemetery at dawn where he committed the crimes.

Once detained, the identity of the person had to be verified, since he was undocumented to avoid verification by the agents of the arrest warrant and expulsion from national territory that weighed on him.

The proceedings have been instructed in the Court of first instance and instruction number 4 of Onteniente.
