The Civil Guard has arrested two men accused of the crime of robbery with force in a citrus warehouse in the Castellón town of Benicarló, from which they stole a total of 25 tons of oranges on different dates, which, given their scarcity in this time of year, could reach a market value of 25,000 euros.

As reported by the Civil Guard in a press release, on June 23, a citizen filed a complaint at the Benicarló post in which he stated that, after realizing that the amount of oranges he had negotiated and agreed with a client It did not correspond to what he had received, he noticed that several tons of these citrus fruits had been stolen.

The ROCA team then began an investigation in which it determined that there were two suspects in the alleged robbery and verified that at least one of the alleged perpetrators was a former employee of the company and that both individuals could have accessed the warehouse using a false key.

Once inside the citrus warehouse, they disabled the video surveillance system in order to act with total impunity, using the material and machinery available there to later transport and sell the product to a company in Tarragona.

The result of the investigation culminated in the arrest of the two suspects, two men aged 31 and 41, respectively, according to the sources.

The action has been carried out by members of the ROCA Team of the Vinaròs Civil Guard Post and the proceedings ordered have been delivered to the Vinaròs Courts.
