The CCC works council, a Facebook subcontractor in Barcelona that has raised 334 dismissals through an ERE due to less activity, has called mobilizations against the labor adjustment, as reported on Wednesday by the UGT in a statement.
The workers’ body, in which the CC.OO. is also present, “does not see any real cause for the company to dismiss these workers” for which reason it calls concentrations in the workplace for August 21 and 24, in a two-hour stretch on each of those days.
CCC, owned by the Canadian Telus, alleges a drop in the activity of Facebook, its exclusive client, to justify the file. The company is in charge of moderating content in several languages ??on the platform and employs around 2,300 people, with the Torre Agbar in Barcelona as the main building.
After considering the ERE, advanced by La Vanguardia, the objective of the committee is to minimize the impact on the workforce and, if this is not possible, obtain the maximum compensation. The layoffs would come months after an ERTE for 680 people, in which there were some 100 voluntary departures.
Among the content that is moderated are violent images. Last year the company was penalized by the Generalitat Labor Inspectorate for not complying with the psychosocial risk prevention law, after a worker who continuously viewed violent images suffered health problems. Telus disconnects the ERE from the sanction.
